The behaviors in which I
have developed over these past two months while in ENT3003 are skills that I
will have for my lifetime. In order to keep up with the requirements for this
course I have to be very tenacious about when I am needed to submit something
and if I am going to have enough time before it hits 9:00 that evening. I have
developed a skill in which is actually setting a reminder for myself when
everything is due and making sure I meet that deadline no matter what.
When I felt like giving
up, there was a moment when I looked back at all the previous work I had done
and said to myself “I can keep going if I’ve already gone this far”. I have
definitely developed a very tenacious attitude during these past two months and
know I will keep that attitude with me. The experience most contributed to this
is getting feedback from other students on my work and knowing what I have done
is being shared with lots of other people.
Three tips I would offer
next semester’s students about fostering the skills that support tenacity and
developing the ‘tenacious mindset’ would be 1) Make sure to set reminders on
when things are due. 2) Do your work ahead of time incase anything comes up. 3)
Be positive about your work, and know that other’s are seeing it. Your work
means a lot to not only the teacher and other student’s, but also you. It will
help you in the long run.
Hello Alexa!
ReplyDeleteI think that what you have learned to do this semester is great and I enjoy learning about becoming an entrepreneur and all about entrepreneurship as you are. You tips are also a lot like mine. Time management seems to be the most important factor, because it is very important to get your assignments turned in on time. You should check out my post at http://jakesentrepreneurshipuf.blogspot.com/2016/02/halfway-reflection.html
Alex,
ReplyDeleteI also have been setting reminders on my phone and making it mandatory that I do the assignment whenever I see the reminder pop up. This is keeping me on time with my assignments and never really falling behind at all. I also agree about staying positive with your work. I personally did not think my elevator pitches were very good at all, but I received some great feedback and it made me feel better about the job I had done. I think this class is also helping us with our public speaking which is always a good quality to have. Good luck on the rest of the semester!
another word for tenacity is Grit. check out this TED talk on Grit's correlation to success: http://tiny.cc/0fny9x
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to do big things in life. First, you pimped out your blog. looks sweet by the way. Second, you were self aware enough to realize that this class demands nothing short of tenacity and you developed it. Third, you're a great writer.
I would have liked to see you go deeper. deeper into some of the other skills you've had to develop as a entrepreneur in this class. I want to see an example of where you put tenacity to the test. I want to see the real you.
But other than tha, I thought it was great and appreciate the time you spent writing this post!
